Wrox and Glasshaus going out of business

Since their parent company ran out of money, Wrox and Glasshaus are folding. I don't know how long their existing titles will remain on retail shelves, or if they'll be picked up by other publishers. But if you need any of the info on their web sites, I suggest you back it up now, before the site comes down.

Need a website copier?

Whenever I encounter a site that I fear might go down or become inaccessible at any moment, I turn to HTTrack. It does a very good job of quickly copying entire sites or sections of sites.

No!!!!!!!!!!!

I've always enjoyed Wrox's books. They seem to have better examples and case studies than O'Reilly's. Their "Professional Javascript" title was extremely well written (despite being outdated now). "Beginning Java" was a text book for one of my classes and "The Revolutionary Guide to QBASIC" is the bible for hacking that old language. Wrox will be missed.

Wrox Rocks!

I truly hope Wrox can stay afloat somehow. I've been a regular buyer of computer manuals since the DOS days, having purchased many titles from Que, O'Reilly, Sams and others. I've always found Wrox to have the highest quality overall. They certainly delivered on their "Programmer to Programmer" motto. I will be sad to see them go.
